Prayer Practices
Dive into one of these curated prayer practices to create your daily prayer rhythm.
Start with one of the practices, but make sure to try them all. Each practice carries with it a unique encounter and communication time with the Lord.
We recommend combining a few of the practices together to create a robust, diversified prayer portfolio. Consider your season with the Lord, how does He want to commune with you?
Have grace for yourself! Take your time establishing a daily prayer rhythm, aiming for 5 to 7 days out of the week to start out. The goal is a life of prayer, be careful with setting deadlines or measuring progress in natural ways. Quality and quantity of prayer is not the point: talking to and with your Father is.
Pre-Written Prayers
These pre-written prayers are written by members of the LightHouse community and are like kindling for your prayers. Our hope is that they would serve as starting fuel to the furnace of prayer in your heart. Not sure what to pray? These are a good start.
Prayer Models
Prayer Models are rooted in praying scripture and they follow a rhythm of offering thanksgiving followed by making requests. We have created several models for different seasons or circumstances in life. These models are great for families to do together.
Guided Prayers
All throughout Christian history we find guided prayers that followers of Jesus used to create structured, daily prayer rhythms. Use these prayers to inspire a life-schedule that is bookmarked by prayer, where the day in and day out of life is surrounded by communing
with the Lord.
Pray the 5-Pressure Points
From the book The Attack Lambs by Mark Geppert, this practice guides you in praying over the 5-Pressure Points that will change a nation. This prayer practice is one of the ways that we can follow Jesus’ instructions to pray in Matthew 6.

Pray the Word
This prayer practice involves praying out the written Scriptures, using them to wash an internal or external circumstance with the truth of God’s Word.
Pray the Name(s)
There is power in the Name of Jesus and in the names of God. He intentionally named Himself certain things so that we can tap into the power of His names in prayer and declaration.
Pray the Blood
In this practice, we ask for spiritual protection, healing, forgiveness, and deliverance by invoking the cleansing and redemptive power of Jesus' blood.
The Examen
The Examen is a type of reflective prayer or contemplative prayer. It involves a prayerful reflection on the events of the day to discern God's presence and to evaluate one's thoughts, actions, and emotions. It typically includes steps such as expressing gratitude, asking for the Holy Spirit's guidance, reviewing the day, recognizing shortcomings, and seeking God's grace for the future.
Prophetic Prayer
The practice of prophetic prayer involves seeking and speaking God's will, guidance, or revelation. The Holy Spirit provides insight or direction. Those who engage in prophetic prayer may receive words, visions, or impressions from God, which are shared with others or are used to pray over specific situations.
Intercessory Prayer
Intercessory prayer is a form of prayer in which a person prays on behalf of others. Instead of focusing on personal needs, the person praying intercedes for the needs, concerns, or well-being of other people, groups, or situations. This could involve praying for individuals, communities, nations, or even global issues.
Meditation
Christian meditation is a form of contemplative prayer that involves focusing the mind and heart on God, His word, and His presence. Unlike Eastern meditation, which often emphasizes emptying the mind, Christian meditation seeks to fill the mind with thoughts of God and His truths.
